How often do you get to attend a professional conference
that has something for everyone? If your answer is rarely or never, then now is
your chance! SCPRSA and IABC are hosting their annual conference on Friday,
Nov. 16 in Columbia at the South Carolina Hospital Association. The conference,
aptly titled “Connect 2012: Choose Your Path, Measure Your Success,” offers
dynamic speakers, fresh ideas and mentoring opportunities for practitioners of all
ages.
Another added benefit to attending the conference is the
chance to meet and network with PR pros from around the state. The connections you make at local conferences
like this one can serve you well in your career. For example, you never know
when you might need to call on a fellow PR practitioner for advice or even help
finding a new job!
So, what else can you do to maximize your experience on Nov.
16? I encourage you to commit now to being fully engaged throughout the day.
For example, don’t just attend the sessions. Instead, actively listen and
participate. Don’t just sit with a group of people at a table. Instead,
introduce yourself and strike up a conversation. Your engagement will help generate
more lively discussions, more ideas will be exchanged and more connections will
be made. We are PR people. We can do this!
See you Nov. 16!
