SCPRSA 2012 Mercury Awards Goes Paperless

SCPRSA leads the way, as one of the first S.C.-based organizations to host a green annual award
The South Carolina Public Relations Society of America (SCPRSA) is taking steps to support the environment, and the organization’s annual Mercury and Silver Wing Awards have officially gone green.

This year, the SCPRSA becomes one of the first South Carolina organizations to host an entirely paperless annual awards submission and judging process with its 2012 Mercury Awards. Entrants will be asked to submit all nominations and supporting materials on CD to eliminate unnecessary printing.

“In an effort to go green and embrace the technologies we have at hand, we are excited to be one of the first organizations to go paperless for its annual award nominations,” said this year’s Mercury Awards Judging Chair Kelly Davis, A.P.R.

The entry deadline for Mercury Awards and Silver Wing Awards is Monday, Feb. 13. To learn more about entering and rules, individuals should visit the SCPRSA website.  Winners will be announced in May at a private Historic Springdale House and Gardens event in West Columbia, S.C.
