Our Mercury Awards committee has worked hard to put together a streamlined awards entry process. Information on award categories and how to submit an award can be found here. There is a fee associated with each entry, but you’ll see it’s so worth it when you take home your first plaque and proudly display it on your desk or wall. Note that the deadline to enter is Monday, February 16 at 5 p.m.
If you’re looking for tips on how to submit the best entry, check out this presentation by SCPRSA member Alice Grey Harrison. Alice Grey has won numerous Mercury and Silver Wing awards and recently shared her tips during an upstate regional luncheon. She also won last year’s PR Practitioner of the Year award! Below is the video along with her slides on SlideShare so you can look at the slides while she is talking.
There are numerous individual award opportunities like this one, so be sure to take the time to nominate a valued peer or colleague. There is no fee associated with the individual awards, and the deadline to submit an individual award entry is a week later on Monday, February 23 at 5 p.m.
I encourage all of the PR professionals in the state to submit an entry and to attend the event regardless of if you’re a winner. This event is the perfect time to engage with your colleagues, have fun and celebrate a profession we all know and love. See you April 30 in Columbia!
